Our Philosophy
"Serious RP Without Killing the Spark" - EmberCoast is built on realism, flexibility, and fun. We believe good RP comes from creativity, not fear of punishment. As long as you're respectful, immersive, and here to tell a story, you'll feel right at home.
💬 General Conduct
- 1. Be respectful to everyone. Treat players, staff, and community members with maturity and kindness.
- 2. Hate speech, racism, sexism, harassment, or discrimination of any kind is not tolerated.
- 3. Keep OOC (Out of Character) drama out of IC (In Character) situations. Settle disputes civilly or bring them to staff if needed.
🎭 Roleplay Expectations
- 1. EmberCoast is a serious RP server. Play your character as if they were a real person, with goals, flaws, and consequences.
- 2. Use common sense while roleplaying. If your actions wouldn't make sense in real life, think twice before doing them.
- 3. Don't stress over every little mistake. Not every slip-up or funny moment needs to end in a punishment.
- 4. We value story and creativity over rigid rules. If your RP leads to something unexpected, roll with it.
🚫 Prohibited Behavior
- 1. Random Deathmatch (RDM) is not allowed. You must have a valid in-character reason for attacking or killing.
- 2. Vehicle Deathmatch (VDM) is also not allowed. Don't use vehicles to harm others without proper RP.
- 3. Powergaming is forcing outcomes, ignoring injuries, or doing unrealistic things that break immersion.
- 4. Metagaming means using OOC information IC. Only act on what your character knows in the world.
- 5. Avoid trolling or baiting police unless it's part of a logical and creative storyline.
- 6. Erotic RP is not allowed. If things head that way, fade to black.
🚓 Criminal RP
- 1. If you're doing criminal RP, keep it grounded. Constantly robbing every store with no buildup or purpose ruins immersion for others.
- 2. Major crimes like bank robberies or hostage situations should have buildup and proper planning.
- 3. Don't treat crime as a game mechanic. Focus on story and consequences that affect both you and others.
🛡️ Emergency Services RP
- 1. LEOs and medical personnel should take their roles seriously, but that doesn't mean being robotic or overly strict.
- 2. Stay professional in character, but remember everyone's here to enjoy themselves.
- 3. Police shouldn't act like executioners or machines. Use discretion and escalate appropriately.
- 4. Civilians should treat emergency services as real characters, not just obstacles.
- 5. Corrupt roleplay within police or medical departments is allowed as long as it's realistic and character-driven. However, it may go against departmental SOPs or internal guidelines, and characters may face in-character consequences like suspension or termination.
🏙️ Civilians & Character Development
- 1. Create characters with depth. Not everyone needs to be a gangster or a millionaire.
- 2. Funny or strange characters are welcome as long as they still fit within a realistic world and don't disrupt others' RP.
- 3. Permanent death is optional, but be ready for in-character consequences when they make sense.
🌐 Use of Voice & Text
- 1. Voice is the main method of RP. Make sure your mic is clear and understandable.
- 2. Don't use music, soundboards, or weird voice changers that ruin immersion.
- 3. Use /me when appropriate to add flavor and detail to your scenes.
🛠️ Use of Game Mechanics
- 1. Don't abuse bugs or glitches. Report them instead.
- 2. Don't combat log. Quitting to avoid RP consequences is not acceptable.
- 3. If something breaks during a scene, use OOC to explain and work together to fix it.
🎥 Streaming & Content Creation
- 1. No stream sniping
- 2. Must blur player names if requested
- 3. No monetization of server content without permission
- 4. Must follow Twitch/YouTube guidelines
- 5. No streaming of staff meetings
💰 Economy & Business
- 1. No money glitching
- 2. No exploiting business mechanics
🎮 Play to Lose, Not Just to Win
- 1. Getting caught or failing is part of the experience. It creates better stories than always winning.
- 2. Let situations unfold naturally. Staff will step in only if absolutely necessary. We prefer when RP resolves itself.
🧠 Staff & Rule Enforcement
- 1. Staff are here to help RP happen, not to control every move.
- 2. Honest mistakes or awkward RP moments won't get you punished. We'll offer guidance instead.
- 3. Serious issues like harassment, griefing, or exploiting will be handled directly and without warning.
